Standard Zither Pins

Pins are good quality, and the holes are easy to modify for thicker strings. They are right hand thread, unlike those found on most zithers which are left hand. And on softer wood (i.e. Spanish cedar) or just for the sake of keeping a tight fit I would suggest using a 11/64" or 5/32" drill bit. The holes that I've done in 3/16" have all run loose and require several oil soaks to swell the hole back up. After drilling several test holes and running the pins in and out I like how the 11/64" feels so far. You may have to do a little searching for the not so standard sized bits but they are readily available and not expensive.

I have ordered and used these Zither pins since the mid 1990's when I make Bowed Psalteries. They are consistent in quality and I only get these pins from MusicMakers.
