Spirit Flute
The Spirit Flute is the perfect flute for first time players. Like the Recorder, Spirits Flutes are shorter than Native American Style Flutes which make covering the fingering holes easier, especially for those with smaller hands.
The short and streamlined design of this flute makes it easy to take with you wherever you go. Additionally, the short mouthpiece minimizes moisture buildup and creates ample back-pressure for clarity on the higher register notes.
This traditional flute in the key 'A' minor is handcrafted from Spanish Cedar, a softwood that gives the flute a deep and rich musical voice, with warm high notes, and firm low notes.

Spirit Flute
This traditional flute in the key 'A' minor is handcrafted from Spanish Cedar, a softwood that gives the flute a deep and rich musical voice, with warm high notes, and firm low notes.
Spirit Flutes are sealed with non-toxic oils, which gives them a warm, resonant, and full voice.
Length: 14.0 inches (35.6 cm) long.
This is a 6-hole flute. We cover the 3rd hole from the top of the flute (known as the 6th hole) with a leather tie. This makes it easier to play but gives the option to use it as a 6-hole or a 5-hole flute.
Learning How to Play
Each flute comes with a an instructional booklet and DVD. Topics covered in the DVD include:
- Basic Fingering
- Getting Even Sound
- Creating Melody
- Developing Rhythm
- Breath Control
- Care of the Flute
The booklet expands on these topisc and included additional information not covered in the DVD. There is also a comprehensive collection of fingering charts so you can find any note you would ever need.
The fingering chart at left shows you how to play the C Pentatonic Scale. This is the same scale that is used on our Reverie Harp so it is pretty straight forward if you want to play these two instruments together.
The black holes indicate they are to be covered with your finger. Use the fingers on your left hand to cover the two holes above the leather tie and the fingers on your right and to cover the bottom three holes.
So - to play the note 'G' - place your index finger over the top hole. Blow gently through the mouth piece and experiment with air pressure until you create a pleasing tone. Try to find the sweet spot.
