A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, we used to feature a Saung Gauk in our logo. We've often thought it might be fun to try to build a similar instrumnet. So Jerry finally went ahead and did it. He made a run of these kits and built them with folks at a local craft camp.
It's a fun and unique project but not an instrument that we plan to add to our line up. However, we do have 6 extra kits available. Assembly instructions for these kits are minimal compared to our regular assembly instructions but they will tell you everything you need to know to get the kit built.
As with all our kits, you'll get everything you need to make this instrument including all of the pre-cut wood parts, hardware, and strings. You supply your own glue, finish, and elbow grease.
The details:
- 15 strings (nylon or wire)
- C Major Pentatonic Tuning
- Mahogany frame and neck
- 5 1/2 pounds
- 34" tall
- Body is 7" wide
